visit https://rpr.irs.gov/ptin First you must create an account. Go to the online PTIN system and click on “Create Account” under the “New User” option. Follow the prompts to complete the account setup process and obtain a temporary password. Then use your User ID and temporary password to login to the system. Your User ID is the email address you used when you created your account. You will be prompted to change your password upon logging in for the first time. Once logged in, if you have a social security number, you must select: “Sign Up with SSN.” Follow the prompts to apply for the calendar year or prior years, and obtain a PTIN. Apply and pay $18.75 PTIN fee.

What compliance documents are required to be submitted for transmission?
Basically, any demographics documents,
income documents, or any other documents used to prepare the tax return should be uploaded into the client's file such as:
Copy of taxpayer Driver's License
Copy of taxpayer Social Security card
Copy of Social Security card for each dependent
Copy of Income documents (any that are applicable)
W-2
form1099
Schedule C declaration
Copy of any other documents used to file taxes
Mortgage Interest Statement
Childcare Expense Statement
Student Loan Interest
Tuition Fees
Client Application with Signature
Consent to Use form with Signature
E-file Authorization with Signature
Consent to Disclose Taxpayer Information with Signature (all signatures are electronic through the software)
